Freddie Junior “Fred” Moore
Age 62 of Sycamore Run Road, Glenville departed this earthly life “The Cowboy Way” at 6:50 AM, Friday, March 11, 2011 the way he wanted at home with his wife, children, family and friends around him.

He was born January 29, 1949 in Gilmer County a son of the late John M. and Hazel Miller Moore.

Fred was employed by Gilmer County Board of Education as custodian at Glenville Elementary School. Known as just Fred, he spent his days making sure his facility was well kept and safe.  The little ones were so special to him.

He was co-owner and operator and “jokester” of the husband and wife operation known as the Common Place Restaurant on Main Street, Glenville.  You could always find him there when he wasn’t at work or enjoying his favorite past-time—his love of horses, whether that be tending to his horse on the family farm, showing his horse or on horse rides.

A Baptist by faith he loved the outdoors as his sanctuary.

On May 27, 1967 he was married to Peggy A. Roberts Moore who survives at their Sycamore Run home.

Surviving are five children:  Renate Ragans of Gloucester, VA; John Moore and wife Manervia of Glenville; Kelly Radcliff and husband Robert of Linn; Daniel Moore and wife Nina of San Antonio, TX, and Jacqueline Moore at home.

One sister survives:  Carolyn Sue Bailey of Huntington, WV.  Grandchildren:  Roberta and William Radcliff; Laken, Kallie, Dakota, Liam, Elijah and Josh Moore; Brandon, Dustin, Brittany and Jordan Ragans and two step-grandchildren, Seanna and Stacey Smith; one great-grandchild, Brice Ragans; Godparents to Jacqueline and special friends, Jack and Brenda McCartney of Cox’s Mill.

Funeral services will be held at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2011 with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rhoades Cemetery, Kelley Run, Glenville.

Friends may call 2:00-8:00 PM, Monday at the Mortuary.

Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. is assisting the family of Fred Moore with arrangements.

Glenville’s community just lost one of it’s best.
He leaves a void that cannot be filled.      My condolences and prayers to Peggy, Kelly, John, Daniel and the rest of the family.

Fred will be missed greatly, but not forgotten easily.  My prayers will be with the family.
